“Mount Everest is Mount Everest. It’s the highest mounting in the world. I want to use Mount Everest, a 29, 000 ft. platform, to scream hope.
— Sean Swarner

As a young boy, Sean was always competitive. He always loved being outdoors. He love pushing myself. He love challenging myself. He was very adventurous.

At 13 years old, Sean had a Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Askin’s Sarcoma at 16.

Sean’s treatment left his one lung nonfunctional.

Personally, I think it is a combination of modern medicine, family support, prayer,

and the will to keep going.

After, overcoming cancer, Sean pursued a master’s degree and then decided to climb Mount Everest with just one functioning lung.
